Purpose:
The job holder plays a key role in increasing business volume and margins by identifying and developing new opportunities for the products of Flow Control and/or Advanced Refractories while securing existing, profitable customer relationships in the long term. A deep understanding of the business environment and customer needs in the region Egypt forms the basis for achieving and, ideally, exceeding budget targets. In addition, continuous monitoring of competitive activities is essential in order to identify market changes at an early stage and respond to them strategically. Building and maintaining trusting relationships across all hierarchical levels and confident negotiation skills round off the key expectations for this position.
Key Accountabilities/Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Steel (Flow Control & Advanced Refractories) products & services sales at customers in Egypt
- Assist customer in the usage of Steel products/services and solve problems (refractory and mechanical)
- Offer technical responses to customer needs through the offer of new products/services.
- Respond to sales enquiries through preparation of quotes
- Follow products/services trials and prepare report
- Lead technical projects
- Manage delivery schedule and follow-up stock
- Perform a monthly report to summarize activities
- Contribute to the elaboration and implementation of the commercial strategy
- Contribute to activities at other customers within the region as required
- Work in collaboration with the customer service administrators, the product specialists, the R&D department and other team members
- Full compliance with all Company and Customer Site Health & Safety regulations and associated systems and procedures
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Metallurgical & Material Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years’ professional experience in Steel industry with a strong technical background of iron and steel processes and associated refractory material. Preferably Refractories, Sales, Business Development, Product Management
- Good or excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to meet new people and quickly establish rapport
- Team player with hands-on mentality, well organized and action oriented; solves problems effectively
- Resilience and confident performance in demanding situations
- Professional and self-confident appearance towards internal and external partners
- High level of ownership and execution strength
- Fluent in Arabic and English
- Proficient traveller
- A valid driving licence
- Proficient in using Microsoft suite, especially Excel
