Role Description The Switchgear Estimation & Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Doha, Qatar. This role involves reviewing project specifications, single-line diagrams, and client requirements to prepare accurate technical designs and cost estimations for LV and MV switchgear panels. Daily responsibilities include developing detailed layouts and schematics, selecting appropriate components, and preparing bills of materials and technical proposals. The engineer will coordinate with sales, procurement, and production teams to ensure feasibility, compliance with standards, and alignment with client expectations. The role also includes responding to technical queries, optimizing designs for cost and performance, and supporting project execution from initial concept through delivery.
Qualifications

* Candidates should possess strong Design Engineering and Product Design skills for developing practical, compliant switchgear solutions.
Candidates should possess Electrical Engineering expertise, including knowledge of power distribution, protection schemes, and relevant codes and standards.
Candidates should possess Mechanical Engineering skills to ensure proper enclosure design, clearances, mounting, and mechanical integrity of switchgear assemblies.
Candidates should possess proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for creating detailed drawings, layouts, and schematics.
Relevant bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or closely related field).
Experience in LV/MV switchgear design, estimation, and project-based engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or EPC environment.
Ability to interpret technical specifications, single-line diagrams, and international standards (e.g., IEC).
Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Familiarity with MS Office applications and engineering calculation tools; knowledge of local Qatar regulations is an advantage.
