As a Planning Engineer, you will lead project planning, scheduling, and progress control across our infrastructure projects in the UAE. You will build and maintain baseline programmes, track performance against them, and give project management accurate forecasts so the project finishes on time and within budget.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed baseline programmes in Primavera P6 in line with contract requirements, the scope of work, and construction methodology.
- Build and maintain the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), activity logic, durations, and resource and cost loading.
- Update programmes weekly and monthly, and track actual progress against the baseline.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, look-ahead schedules (2-week and 3-week), and S-curves.
- Monitor critical and near-critical paths, flag delays early, and recommend recovery actions.
- Coordinate with site, engineering, procurement, and subcontractor teams to collect progress data and align on sequencing.
- Support the preparation of interim payment applications with progress measurement.
- Keep planning records, programme revisions, and supporting documentation in order.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Planning Engineer: 5 - 8 years of planning experience, including at least 3 years on UAE infrastructure projects.
- Senior Planning Engineer: 10+ years of planning experience, including at least 5 years on UAE infrastructure projects in a lead planning role.
- Experience with a contracting company is required.
- Experience on Sharjah projects (e.g. SRTA, SEWA, Sharjah Municipality) is strongly preferred.
- Exposure to roads, bridges, utilities, drainage, and other infrastructure works.
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6. Knowledge of MS Project is an advantage.
- Strong command of CPM scheduling, resource loading, and progress measurement.
- Working knowledge of FIDIC contract conditions and UAE authority approval processes.
- Experience in Power BI for reporting, data visualisation, and interactive dashboards.
