The role
We are seeking a Senior Software Architect to serve as the technical authority for our Checkout Engine. This dual-focus role requires the strategic mindset of a Software Architect combined with the deep domain expertise of a Point of Sales (POS) Expert. You will be the primary driving force behind the engine's future design, ensuring our platform remains fast, fault-tolerant, and highly scalable under peak global retail loads.
This is a hands-on leadership position. As an engineering leader, you will spend up to 50% of your time assisting in coding, primarily in Java, building prototypes, and pairing with teams to validate architectural decisions.
Given the complexity of our domain, the role begins with a 6-month "Architectural Immersion" phase. This dedicated period allows you to dive deep into the codebase, master the Checkout Engine’s nuances, and earn the deep technical context required to confidently lead its long-term evolution.
