MCE Marine Surveyors B.V. is expanding – we are looking for two Bunker Quantity Surveyors
Due to the continued growth of our operations, MCE Marine Surveyors B.V. is looking for two new Bunker Quantity Surveyors / Marine Surveyors to strengthen our team in the ARA region.
About the position
As a Bunker Quantity Surveyor, you will independently attend bunker deliveries on board seagoing vessels and bunker barges.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Performing bunker quantity surveys
• Gauging vessel and barge tanks before and after delivery
• Taking temperatures and carrying out quantity calculations
• Monitoring Mass Flow Meter and manual bunker deliveries
• Witnessing continuous drip sampling
• Checking BDNs, sounding reports and other bunker documentation
• Recording discrepancies and issuing Statements of Facts / Letters of Protest when required
• Preparing accurate survey reports and photographic documentation
• Maintaining direct operational contact with vessels, bunker suppliers, barges and agents
Who are we looking for?
You are accurate, responsible and able to work independently in a demanding operational environment.
Preferably you have experience as a bunker, cargo or marine surveyor. However, we are also interested in candidates with a strong maritime background who are willing to be trained as a Bunker Quantity Surveyor.
Experience as a deck officer, marine engineer, cargo inspector or within liquid bulk operations is therefore also highly relevant.
You should have:
• MBO-level education or equivalent working experience, preferably maritime or technical
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Good command of English
• Driving licence B
• Flexibility to work during evenings, nights and weekends
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for your own measurements and reporting
• Valid documentation required to work and, where applicable, travel to the ports in which you will be deployed
Experience with bunker surveys, liquid bulk inspections, MFM operations, sampling or a Surveyor Liquid Bulk qualification is an advantage.
