Role Description The Wine Cellar Manager (Gerant/Gerante Caves à Vins) is a full-time, on-site role based in Marrakesh-Safi, Morocco. This role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the wine cellar and related retail area, including stock management, product display, and organization of wines and spirits. The Wine Cellar Manager advises customers, provides product recommendations, and ensures a high standard of customer service. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating deliveries, monitoring inventory levels, managing orders, and maintaining accurate records of stock and sales. The role also involves ensuring proper storage conditions, organizing tastings or promotional events, and collaborating with management on pricing and product selection.
Qualifications
- * Solid knowledge of wines, beers, and spirits, including key regions, styles, and tasting principles.
- Experience in retail or hospitality operations, ideally in a wine shop, cellar, or restaurant environment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to advise and educate clients confidently.
- Competence in inventory control, stock rotation, and basic merchandising for beverage products.
- Ability to work on-site full time, manage time effectively, and handle physical tasks such as stocking and organizing bottles.
- Basic numerical and IT skills for handling orders, sales tracking, and reporting; familiarity with POS systems is an advantage.
- Previous experience in team coordination or supervisory responsibilities is a plus.
- Fluency in French is highly beneficial; knowledge of Arabic and/or English is an added advantage.
- Formal training or certification related to oenology, hospitality, or food and beverage management is an asset.
