This position reports to the Finance Manager and is responsible for planning and directing accounting activities within the finance department by performing the following duties:
Main Duties
- Prepare, review and submit Monthly & Yearly NSSF and other tax declaration (tax on salaries, VAT, Income tax, stamp)
- Prepare, control, and follow up on distribution department aging and daily orders
- Maintain and update assets book of the company
- Perform monthly Payroll processing activities
- Govern the end of month closing process
- Check monthly supplier payments and control the vendor aging
- Prepare monthly closing reports (PL & BS)
- Prepares Cash flow reports
- Prepare yearly Budgets and monthly comparatives
- Reconcile accruals & prepayments accounts
- Check and approve monthly reconciliation and revenue assurance files readiness and accuracy
- Oversee the Monthly stock count, stock reconciliations and analyze variances
- Review the accounting entries on daily basis to assure accuracy and compliance with established accounting principles and procedures and with fiscal requirements.
- Coordinate with auditors as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory responsibilities include:
- Supervise and control the accounting department
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly/quarterly/yearly closing
- Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
- Ensure all reconciliations are completed within the deadlines.
- Recommend changes in accounting policies and procedures as necessary and assist in implementing those changes.
