HEAD OF BRAND IDENTITY & COMMUNICATIONS
We are looking for a Head of Brand Identity & Communications to build the long-term strength, distinctiveness and mental availability of the DVJ brand.

What will you do as Head of Brand Identity & Communications?
As Head of Brand Identity & Communications, you are responsible for the long-term development of the DVJ brand. You translate our strategy and positioning into distinctive brand assets, creative ideas, stories and experiences that make DVJ easier to recognise, remember and choose.
This role is not responsible for the operational execution of campaign planning, lead generation or the organisation and delivery of commercial events. These responsibilities sit elsewhere within DVJ.
This is a role for someone who combines strategic brand thinking with exceptional creativity. You understand where DVJ wants to go as a business and translate that direction into how our brand looks, feels, sounds and communicates. You continuously challenge us to make our story simpler, stronger and more memorable and raise the creative standard of everything that carries the DVJ name.
Our Commercial organisation focuses on sales activation: creating opportunities, developing client relationships and converting demand into revenue. Your focus is different and complementary: building the long-term strength, fame and mental availability of the DVJ brand.
You report directly to the Managing Director and are part of DVJ’s strategic Brand Team, which owns our global brand strategy, corporate identity, Brand Growth Platform, Spenderlog as BtoB/BtoC brand, and flagship thought-leadership initiatives.
Your responsibilities include:
- Long-term Brand Building - translate DVJ’s strategic positioning into clear long-term brand-building priorities and initiatives that strengthen our position as a Brand Growth partner.
- Distinctive Brand Assets - build consistency in how visual and verbal assets are used over time and across markets, helping create strong and distinctive memory structures around the DVJ brand.
- Creative Direction - develop strong creative ideas and concepts that make our strategy visible, engaging and memorable. Inspire our designers and creative partners to continuously raise the quality and distinctiveness of our creative work.
- Brand Identity -own and continuously develop the DVJ Brand Identity System, including our design language, typography, imagery, tone of voice, presentation design, digital identity and other distinctive brand assets. And make it easy for teams across DVJ to use the brand consistently and confidently.
- Brand Storytelling & Communications - set the strategic and creative direction for corporate communication and ensure our communication consistently strengthens the DVJ brand.
- Thought Leadership -ensure that our thought leadership contributes to one clear and recognisable DVJ brand story.
- Flagship Brand Experiences -Shape the creative concept, identity, storytelling and brand experience around flagship initiatives. Ensure that these initiatives build the DVJ brand before, during and after the event.
- Corporate & Leadership Communications - support the board and leadership team in translating strategic messages into clear and compelling communication.
- Employer Brand- work together with People & Culture to ensure that our employer brand reflects the same identity, values and ambition as our external brand.
What do you bring?
You are a strategic brand thinker and creative leader. You understand that strong brands are not built through individual campaigns or communication activities. They are built over time through distinctive, memorable and consistent ideas, assets and experiences.
You combine a strong understanding of brand strategy with an exceptional instinct for creativity, design and storytelling. You ensure practice what your preach.
You can look at a business strategy or complex idea and translate it into something people can understand, recognise and remember. You know when consistency is essential, but also when a brand needs to evolve, surprise and create impact.
Most importantly, you bring experience and qualities such as:
- Significant experience in brand strategy, brand identity, creative direction, communications or a comparable senior brand role.
- A strong understanding of long-term brand building and commit to how we see this as an agency.
- The ability to translate business strategy and positioning into a clear brand strategy and creative direction.
- An exceptional eye for design, visual identity, aesthetics and creative quality.
- Strong strategic communication and storytelling skills.
- Experience developing, repositioning or evolving a corporate or professional-services brand.
- Experience creating strong brand concepts across digital, social, publications, presentations, events and other brand touchpoints.
- The ability to balance creativity and experimentation with the consistency required to build a distinctive brand over time.
- Experience working with senior leadership and translating strategic priorities into communication.
- An international mindset and the ability to build a brand that works consistently across different markets.
- Excellent communication skills in English. Dutch is an advantage.

Our visual and verbal identity is distinctive. Our communication is recognisable and creatively strong. Our distinctive assets become increasingly familiar. Our thought leadership strengthens our authority. And across markets and touchpoints, people experience one coherent DVJ brand. Success is not measured by how much content we produce, but by whether our communication and creativity make the DVJ brand stronger over time.
