Community Rehabilitation Organization Relief
Community Rehabilitation Organization (CRO) is a Lebanese non-profit humanitarian organization committed to improving the safety, dignity, resilience, and well-being of vulnerable individuals and communities through evidence-based humanitarian action, technical engineering expertise, and community-centered interventions. CRO specializes in Shelter, WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), Protection referrals, Emergency Response, Early Recovery, and Community Rehabilitation. The organization conducts comprehensive Multi-Sector Needs Assessments (MSNAs), technical shelter and WASH assessments, infrastructure assessments, household vulnerability assessments, collective shelter assessments, and referral services to identify priority needs and support informed humanitarian decision-making. Our multidisciplinary team consists of specialized engineers, humanitarian professionals, MEAL specialists, data analysts, project managers, and trained enumerators with extensive experience in humanitarian operations and emergency response. Our team members have collectively supported humanitarian interventions during major emergencies in Lebanon, including the 2020 Beirut Port Explosion, displacement caused by border hostilities in South Lebanon, and other humanitarian crises, contributing to shelter rehabilitation, WASH services, needs assessments, protection monitoring, coordination, and recovery efforts. CRO works in close coordination with municipalities, Disaster Risk Management (DRM) Units, government institutions, school administrations, community focal points, United Nations agencies, European Union, international NGOs, and local partners to ensure that interventions are coordinated, efficient, accountable, and responsive to community priorities. Our approach combines digital data collection, engineering assessments, GIS mapping, technical inspections, BOQ preparation, project monitoring, and evidence-based prioritization to ensure that limited resources are directed to the most vulnerable populations and the areas of greatest need. CRO is guided by the humanitarian principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence, while promoting human dignity, equality, non-discrimination, gender equality, inclusion, accountability, participation, transparency, and protection. We are committed to serving all people regardless of nationality, religion, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, political affiliation, or social background. Through sustainable rehabilitation, capacity building, community engagement, and emergency preparedness, CRO seeks to strengthen community resilience and contribute to safer, healthier, and more inclusive communities across Lebanon.
