Banin Charity Association is a Lebanese non-profit organization, established in 2013, with a mission to provide support, empowerment, and humanitarian aid to underprivileged communities across Lebanon. Banin focuses on a wide range of programs, including medical care, financial assistance, orphan sponsorship, and education, impacting thousands of vulnerable families each year. With its head office in Beirut and seven operational branches across the country, Banin is committed to delivering transparent, accountable, and impactful services. During times of crisis, BMC opens its doors to provide free medical care to displaced and underserved populations, ensuring that those in need receive high-quality healthcare at no cost. During crises, Banin’s Crisis Management Team (CMT) plays a leading role, providing urgent relief in the form of food, water, shelter, and medical services, including through BMC. Barbara Nassar Cancer Center Azarieh, Saint Charbel Street Beirut- Achrafieh , Beirut Lebanon
Key Programs at the Barbara Nassar Center for Supportive Care: Medical Examination Program:We strive to offer low-cost medical examinations in the Center’s dispensary, featuring private hematologists and oncologists, as well as other specialists in cancer care such as gynecologists, urologists, dermatologists, pulmonologists, endocrinologists, cardiologists, dentists, nutritionists, dentist and more. This initiative addresses the economic challenges faced by patients who may struggle to afford regular doctor visits. Screening & Early Detection Program:Equipped with a mammogram and breast ultrasound, the Center plays a key role in fostering early detection of breast cancer, especially in the absence of national campaigns due to the economic crisis. Committed to providing nominal prices, we aim to encourage regular screenings, addressing the gaps left by the halted national program. Additionally, we will establish a Smoking Cessation Unit to help prevent cancer and promote healthier lifestyles. Psychological Support Program:The primary purpose of the Center is to offer psychological support to patients and their families. This involves personalized assistance through one-on-one counseling and group activities like art and music therapy, breathing exercises, sports, Zumba, Yoga, and more. The Center will also have dedicated beauticians offering skin consultations and treatments to enhance the wellbeing of patients during their treatment. Furthermore, the Beauty Lounge will be open to the public, providing symbolic paid services to contribute to the sustainability of the Center's initiatives. Medicines and Medical Supplies Provision Program:Since its formation, the association has been offering free cancer medication to those in need, but the demand has grown beyond its capabilities. To address this, we have been granted authorization from the Ministry of Public Health to secure donations of medicines from external sources, which will be provided to patients at no cost. Additionally, we will supply other medical accessories needed after cancer operations, such as urine and stool bags (colostomy and urostomy), artificial breasts, wigs, diapers, oxygen machines, wheelchairs, and more. Financial Program to Support Patients in Hospitals:The primary aim of forming the BNA association is to ensure that patients can receive their healthcare with dignity, without having to resort to begging. Given the prevailing economic challenges, the association is dedicated to offering financial assistance, making contributions to chemotherapy sessions, PET scans, etc... Cancer Awareness Museum for Schools and the Public:The awareness museum at the Center will host groups of students and corporate employees for seminars about all types of cancer, featuring live testimonies from cancer survivors. This initiative aims to foster a broader understanding of cancer prevention, screening, and treatment. We also organize usually visits to schools throughout the year and particularly during October to spread awareness. Rehabilitation, Empowerment, and Healing Arts Program:The Empowerment & Community Space within our Center for Supportive Care offers a haven of support and creativity for our patients and survivors. It's a place where individuals can find solace, engage in empowering workshops, and connect with others on similar journeys. From the warmth of our cafeteria to the joy of crafting, this space fosters a sense of community, healing, and hope. Through the sale of their crafts, patients and survivors contribute to their treatments, increasing the circle of support and resilience within our Center. We will sell their products in the center’s boutique and online.

Basmeh & Zeitooneh is a registered non-governmental organization dedicated to serving Syrian refugees and vulnerable populations living in Lebanon and Erbil, Iraq. It began in 2012 as a small group of volunteers responding to the needs of refugees in Lebanon. Since then, we have worked to provide education, relief, livelihoods and protective services. We have also expanded our reach to include vulnerable host communities, while working in areas with the highest concentration of refugees. Despite the rapid development of the organization, we maintain a grassroots and participatory approach, where we seek input and feedback from beneficiaries throughout project design and implementation. Our aim is to provide accessible, holistic solutions that empower and build the capacity of marginalized communities, by utilizing our community centers to serve as focal points for the local neighborhood, and by transferring the knowledge to the affected communities, where B&Z believes that vulnerable people should have the power, knowledge, and ownership to lead their chosen dignified lives. Our varied programs utilize an approach that upholds human dignity, and reduces the need to navigate through a complex international humanitarian system to meet basic needs. Thus the programs are aimed at building and developing skills, enhancing psychological well being, and building individual and communal capacity in order to increase the agency and independence of those who have been marginalized.
