Dirasa and Makani Programs | 2027
Background
The UNICEF-funded Dirasa and Makani Programs aim to provide out-of-school children with multiple, flexible learning pathways that respond to their individual learning needs. The programs are implemented in private and semi-private schools and community centers, targeting out-of-school children while also providing retention support to students already enrolled in schools.
World Learning, in its capacity as the Technical Partner for the Dirasa and Makani Programs, is inviting qualified Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Trainers to join its pool of trainers and technical consultants to support the implementation of various training, capacity-building, and technical support activities throughout 2027.
Selected consultants will be engaged under a framework consultancy agreement based on program needs, implementation schedules, and specific assignment requirements.
Applicants must have a minimum of five years of proven professional experience in Social and Emotional Learning, education, psychology, or a related field.
Nature, Duration and Level of Effort
The selected Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Trainer will be engaged on an assignment basis throughout the 2027 calendar year, depending on the needs of the Dirasa and Makani Programs, with an anticipated level of effort of 60 consultancy days per consultant. The consultant must be available to provide services for at least two days per week, Monday through Friday, during periods of engagement. Specific assignments, deliverables, timelines, locations, and consultancy days will be communicated and agreed upon in advance with the consultant and the relevant World Learning technical team. The actual distribution of days will depend on program requirements, training schedules, and activity availability. The framework agreement does not guarantee continuous engagement, and the consultant will be called upon as needed.
Duty Station and Travel Requirements
The consultancy will be primarily based in Lebanon, with assignments requiring flexibility and availability to work across different locations and regions throughout the country.
Depending on program needs, the consultant will be expected to:
- Travel to different regions across Lebanon to deliver training sessions, conduct field visits, provide on-site technical assistance, and support program implementation.
- Provide online technical support, coaching, and follow-up to teachers and relevant educational personnel.
- Participate in virtual meetings and coordination sessions as required.
- Attend in-person meetings, training preparation sessions, coordination meetings, and follow-up discussions at World Learning's Beirut office when requested.
- Coordinate regularly with the relevant project management and technical teams to ensure effective planning, implementation, and follow-up of assigned activities.
- The consultant must demonstrate flexibility and willingness to travel within Lebanon and provide both in-person and remote support throughout the consultancy period.
