INTRODUCTION
The Women’s Programs Association (WPA) is a non-profit non-governmental organization (NGO), legally registered with the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities since 2008. Its mission is to provide support to Palestinian refugee women and youth and other vulnerable groups in Lebanon to develop their capacities, realize their rights, and fulfill their needs. This is achieved through Protection, Education, Livelihood, and Humanitarian Assistance programs implemented in seven Palestinian refugee camps and surroundings throughout Lebanon. WPA's work is guided by Transparency, Integrity, Non-Discrimination, Respect for Human Beings values.
The Women's Programs Association is currently in the process of recruiting Social Worker at Tripoli area (Beddawi camp), Saida area (Ein el Hilweh camp), Beirut area (Burj al Barajneh camp), Baalbek area (Wavel camp).
Job Purpose
Provide direct support and care for vulnerable case (with focus on women, girls and their families) with protection concerns including psychosocial support and case management.
Responsibilities
Under the direct technical supervision of the Protection Officer, the incumbent will be responsible to:
- Conduct assessments to identify client's needs, strengths, and challenges, and develop individualized case management care plans in collaboration with the clients and monitor their progress and adjust care plans as needed.
- Coordinate and facilitate clients’ access to various social services and resources, directly or by referral.
- Maintain detailed and accurate case records and documentation, ensure full confidentiality and privacy in information sharing and storage of files.
- Organize and facilitate life skills, awareness sessions and PSS activities in line with the Protection program yearly work plan.
- Support outreach for the sessions based on established criteria and ensure follow-up with participants with regard to regular attendance, setting a schedule of sessions in coordination with the center supervisor and the participants.
- Responsible for conducting pre/post and satisfaction survey questionnaires of specific interventions following standardized protocols and ensure reporting is completed on a timely basis.
- Conduct focus group discussions on specific topics and report findings to supervisors.
- Build partnerships and networks with actors in the camp / area for the referral of cases based on identified needs, in addition to the coordination of joint activities and initiatives with community members.
- Maintain a database with disaggregated data (by gender, age, nationality and disability) of all interventions, including supported clients, group sessions, awareness sessions, life skills etc. using applicable tools.
- Prepare monthly report on key achievements, challenges and recommendations
- Participate in meetings and training, as required.
Qualifications
- University degree in social work or related field in Social Sciences, Psychology, or Community Development.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in Protection, case management and PSS.
- Knowledge of Protection principles / safeguarding / SGBV / PSEA
- Training in PSS skills (basic counseling, psychological first aid, etc.) and Case management is desirable.
- Knowledge of the context of the Palestinian refugee women and girls in Lebanon.
