Terre des hommes - Lausanne is seeing a qualified Communication Intern based in Beirut.
General Responsibilities (Overall purpose)
· Support the compilation of success stories, testimonies and activity highlights for projects ending in 2026, based on project documents, field visits (observations, interviews), inputs from project manag-er and field staff.
· Assist in reflecting Tdh interventions through clear and accurate communication materials aligned with project communication and visibility plans.
· Update simple communication products, including factsheets, one-pagers, flyers, presentations and briefs, using Tdh standard templates and branding guidance.
· Draft short social media captions on Tdh activities for review and validation.
· Liaise with programme teams to collect basic information, quotes, photos and consented documen-tation for communication products.
· Assist with basic editing, proofreading, layout support and organisation of photos, videos and com-munication/reporting files in the central digital library.
· Maintain a simple tracker of communication products developed, updated or pending review.
The intern must comply with Tdh policies and procedures, including safeguarding, child protection, data pro-tection, confidentiality and ethical communication standards. The intern must apply the best interests of children and people principle before drafting, producing or sharing communication material, ensure appropri-ate written consent from guardians and children when required, and report any safeguarding concern or pos-sible breach through the appropriate Tdh channels.
Competencies
• University student, recent graduate or bachelor’s degree holder in communication, journalism, broadcasting, social sciences, humanities, graphic design or a related field.
• Previous internship, volunteer or entry-level experience in communications, media, NGOs or com-munity work is an asset.
• Very good writing and editing skills in English and Arabic
• Ability to write clearly, adapt messages for different audiences and communicate respectfully with colleagues and community members.
• Basic ability to take good-quality photographs; familiarity with Canva, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustra-tor or Premiere is an asset.
• Good organisational skills, including time management, prioritisation, meeting deadlines, multitask-ing and working under pressure.
• Cross-cultural awareness, tolerance, flexibility, adaptability, emotional maturity and commitment to ethical communication and safeguarding.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
Requirements for the position
Education / Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in communication/journalism/broadcasting/social sciences and humanities or relevant field of study.
Experience
Languages: Proficiency in Arabic and English
IT Knowledges
Objectives for the 3-month period to be agreed with the supervisor.
