Silat Wassel is an independent youth journalism and media platform dedicated to empowering and supporting the next generation of journalists in the Arab world. To protect our team's safety and psychological well-being, we are issuing an open call for a specialized trainer to design and execute two (2) online, trauma-informed psychosocial sessions.

Objectives of the Training

Session 1: Psychosocial First Aid & Burnout Prevention

Equip team members with tools to manage vicarious trauma, burnout, and moral injury while working under the stresses of ongoing conflict and displacement.

Session 2: Trauma-Informed Reporting & Sensitive Storytelling

Provide actionable frameworks for conducting interviews with marginalized survivors without causing re-traumatization, ensuring ethically grounded media production in sensitive environments.

Scope of Work & Deliverables

Preparation & Customization: Develop online session outlines, practical exercises, and contextualized workshop materials.

Assessment Tools: Prepare and administer a pre-test and post-test assessment to evaluate knowledge gain and skill acquisition.

Delivery: Facilitate two (2) interactive online sessions tailored for displaced journalists.

Final Report: A brief evaluation report summarizing pre/post-test outcomes, participant feedback, and key recommendations.

Required Qualifications

Education: University degree/certified education in psychology, mental health & psychosocial support.

Experience: Minimum of 6 years of professional experience conducting trainings on MHPSS and trauma-informed care.

Deep understanding of the socio-political context of South Lebanon and the specific vulnerabilities faced by displaced women, LGBTQ+ individuals, and minority populations.
