Secours Islamique France (SIF) is a non-governmental organization based in France that promotes international solidarity. Founded in 1991, SIF intends to bring relief and protect the lives of those threatened by natural disasters, armed conflicts, or economic collapse. SIF intervenes in more than 30 countries around the world through emergency relief, recovery, and development aid. It carries out operations in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. Its goal is to help people suffering worldwide, regardless of origin, religion, or gender. 

SIF is seeking a proactive and empathetic Social Worker with experience in child protection, case referrals, and community-based interventions to support vulnerable children and families through outreach, psychosocial activities, and regular follow-up.

The position is based in Beirut, with Field visits to several areas all over Lebanon.

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Social Worker is responsible for identifying and supporting vulnerable children and families through community outreach, home visits, and psychosocial activities. The role includes data collection, case referrals, and awareness-raising while ensuring regular follow-up and coordination with internal teams. The Social Worker plays a key role in implementing age-appropriate support in SIF Safe Centers and promoting child wellbeing within the community. The position supports the Project Officer in planning and delivering field-level interventions in line with SIF’s child protection standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Line Management

• Report technically to the Project Officer

2. General

• Establish close coordination with local authorities (municipalities, SDCs) and community stakeholders to facilitate safe access, referral and CP activities implementation.
• Coordinate with relevant departments to provide operational support for activity implementation.
• Ensure that referral sheets, beneficiary data, and other documents are filled accurately and in line with donor guidelines.
• Ensure that all collected data is reliable, accurate, and securely documented.

3. Program Implementation and Development

• Provide social support to vulnerable children and their families
• Conduct community outreach and home visits
• Conduct phone verifications of beneficiaries
• Work directly with the Project Officer and the field team to develop intervention plans and ensure follow-up in the Child Safe Spaces and children’s houses.
• Identify new vulnerable children, women or families within the community to be assessed and included in the SIF program
• Collect information about visited vulnerable families through interviews, observation, and assessment carried out via outreach home visits
• Collect data and referrals from the field level.
• Complete intake assessments, evaluations, reviews, and other documentation as necessary
• Raise awareness on the services available in Beirut, Mount Lebanon and the South.
• Actively participate in program coordination and relevant meetings on the topic.
• Refer cases to the needed service upon need after the discussion with the CPTO for the high-risk cases.
• Data Entry.
• Support in the implementation and monitoring of age-appropriate psychosocial support activities, recreational activities and awareness sessions for children, youth, and caregivers in the SIF Safe Centers.
• Coordinate with the PSS monitors on the psychosocial support activities.
• Any other related tasks defined by the line manager.

4. Monitoring and Evaluation

• Ensure proper daily recording of data/ monitor the recording of data.
• Centralize all information (reports, weekly updates, etc.) gathered in the field and consolidate a monthly report into the proper reporting format to be delivered to the project officer and technical unit for all technical aspects.
• Provide regular reporting on your activities to the PM and Project Officer upon solicitation.

5. Referrals and Safeguarding

• Identify vulnerable children and families and safely refer them to appropriate services (PSS, health, legal, or social services).
• Apply safeguarding principles at all times and report any safeguarding concerns immediately to CSFP.
• Contribute to creating safe, inclusive, and child-friendly environments during all activities.

6. Reporting and Documentation

• Prepare and submit timely reports, activity completion reports, and monitoring updates to the Project Officer.
• Ensure that donor-related documents are collected on time, archived properly, and ready for submission.
• Provide accurate data and field inputs for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

7. Other

• Participate in workshops, training sessions, and capacity-building activities as approved by the Project Officer.
• Support needs assessment missions in the project area when required.
• Perform any other relevant tasks assigned by management to support project implementation.

KNOWLEDGE/STUDY/DIPLOMA:

• Completion of a first university degree in Social Work or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in child protection, child-focused programming, or working with vulnerable children.
• Intermediate level of oral and written English; Arabic fluency required.
• Familiarity with humanitarian principles and child protection standards.
• Knowledge of case management procedures and referral pathways.
• Ability to absorb legal and procedural information.
• Proficient in data collection, reporting, and documentation.
• Strong observation and analytical skills.

Essential Hard Skills

• Data collection, monitoring, and reporting in line with donor and organizational requirements.
• Knowledge of Child Protection principles, referral pathways, and safeguarding standards.
• Ability to engage with children and caregivers in a safe, respectful, and culturally sensitive manner.
• Strong ability to produce field reports and ensure accurate documentation.
• Competency in using MS Office (Word, Excel) and basic data entry systems.

Desirable Hard Skills

• Experience in PSS, CP programming, or case management support.
• Knowledge of accountability mechanisms and community feedback tools.
• Familiarity with humanitarian coordination and local service provider networks.
