Background

The Finance Technical Assistant supports the day-to-day implementation of financial procedures at the South Office, ensuring compliance with NRC policies, the Financial Handbook, and donor requirements. The role supports accurate and timely payment processing, bookkeeping, cash management, documentation, and monthly financial closing and reporting.

Roles and responsibilities

The Finance Technical Assistant supports the day-to-day financial operations of the South Office, ensuring that financial transactions are processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with NRC policies, procedures, and donor requirements.

Generic Responsibilities

1. Comply with Financial Handbook and other NRC policies

2. Verify that all vouchers and supporting documents are according to standards set in the Financial

Handbook, and enter them into the accounting system

3. Make and verify approved payments

4. Record all cash movements

5. Follow up on advances and refunds

6. Prepare and arrange for bank withdrawals and transfers and present for verification

7. Maintain the filing system for all financial and accounting documents

8. Ensure that expenditure from the main account is accounted in appropriate budget lines and on

relevant projects

9. Ensure that NRC’s related activities are implemented within NRC’s Protection mainstreaming

guidelines and report any breaches/concerns to the line manager and/or focal point for proper action.

Specific responsibilities:

Use the NRC Agresso Accounting System and ensure accurate daily bookkeeping.
Manage office petty cash and ensure its accuracy and sufficient availability daily.
Assist with the monthly accounting closing process, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the ledger and supporting documentation.
Support the preparation of monthly financial reports.
Provide scanned copies of payments in accordance with SSD SOP requirements.
Ensure all transactions are properly authorized and fully documented.
Prepare payments for beneficiaries and vendors in accordance with NRC financial procedures.
Ensure payment requests comply with donor requirements.

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration/finance

• 1-2 years of relevant work experience

• Proficiency in English and Arabic both spoken and written

Proficiency in MS Office applications
