Education Specialist 1- Job Responsibilities

The Education Specialist will

Ensure that educators receive the technical knowledge and skills needed to deliver education programme interventions.
Conduct regular field visits to provide technical support to programme teams.
Train educators on ECE and BLN curricula, assessments, classroom management, and lesson planning.
Provide teaching strategies and materials that engage learners and support learning.
Lead technical planning and monitoring of educators in line with donor requirements.
Follow up on lesson plans and their implementation, the administration and collection of assessments, including placement tests and pre- and post-tests, and the implementation of ECE and BLN programmes.
Review educators’ weekly reports and suggest remedial plans where needed.
Submit weekly reports on the development and implementation of activities.
Create tools and templates that support educators in preparing lesson plans and reports.
Conduct training sessions to improve teaching skills and introduce education methodologies.
Provide individual or group mentorship to help educators improve teaching techniques and classroom management.
Support the development and adaptation of curriculum materials to meet children’s needs.
Ensure educators have access to teaching materials and resources.
Assess the effectiveness of teaching methods and suggest improvements.
Develop interventions to address challenges faced by educators.
Write a monthly narrative report covering achievements per centre, challenges, and mitigation measures.
Participate in monthly meetings with partners and donors.

2- Qualifications

Education

Advanced university degree in education or a related field in pedagogy.

Experience

At least 3 to 5 years of technical expertise in education.
At least 5 years of relevant work experience as a master teacher, trainer, and/or consultant.

Required Languages

Fluent in Arabic, including speaking, reading, and writing.
Fluent in English, including speaking, reading, and writing.
French is a plus.

3- Technical Competences:

Experience in capacity-building processes, tools, and methodologies.
Excellent written English and Arabic. French is an asset.
Good interpersonal and influencing skills, with cross-cultural sensitivity.
Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

4- Behavioral Competences:

Expertise in written and verbal communication.
Time management and organizational skills.
Advanced negotiation skills.
Excellent follow-up and reporting skills.
Willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities.
Strong networking and coordination skills.
Strong multitasking and organizational skills.

5- Work Environment

The Education Specialist will work in coordination with the Education Project Coordinator, Heads of Centers (HoCs), Social Workers, and the MEAL team.

The Education Specialist will work five days a week and conduct visits to Ghobeiry, Jdeidet El Fekha, and Nabatiye centres.
