The Speech Therapist will provide assessment, treatment, follow-up, and guidance for children and adults experiencing speech, language, communication, voice, feeding, or swallowing difficulties. The therapist will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and contribute to individualized rehabilitation plans based on each beneficiary's needs and goals.
Main Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive speech, language, communication, and swallowing assessments.
Develop individualized intervention and treatment plans based on assessment findings.
Provide individual and group speech and language therapy sessions.
Support beneficiaries with articulation, receptive and expressive language, fluency, voice, communication, and related difficulties.
Assess feeding and swallowing difficulties within the therapist's professional scope and provide appropriate intervention or referral.
Establish measurable rehabilitation goals and regularly review beneficiary progress.
Maintain accurate and confidential beneficiary files, assessment records, treatment notes, attendance records, and progress reports.
Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, social workers, physicians, and other relevant professionals.
Provide parents, caregivers, and family members with practical guidance and home-based exercises.
Recommend communication aids and assistive communication solutions when appropriate.
Participate in community outreach, awareness, early identification, and referral activities when required.
Contribute to beneficiary discharge planning and provide recommendations for continued support.
Follow Mousawat's safeguarding, protection, confidentiality, disability inclusion, and professional conduct procedures.
Participate in trainings, team meetings, case reviews, and organizational activities.
Perform other relevant duties within the scope of the position as requested by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
University degree in Speech and Language Therapy, Speech Therapy, or a related recognized field.
Valid authorization or professional eligibility to practice in Lebanon, where legally required.
Previous experience providing speech and language therapy, preferably to children and/or persons with disabilities.
Experience working within an NGO, rehabilitation center, hospital, school, or community-based setting is an advantage.
Experience working in multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams is preferred.
Required Skills
Strong clinical assessment and treatment-planning skills.
Knowledge of different types of communication and developmental disabilities.
Ability to develop individualized and functional rehabilitation goals.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with children, adults, families, and caregivers.
Good documentation and report-writing skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Arabic language proficiency is required; English is an asset.
