Recreational Activity Facilitator/منسّق الأنشطة الترفيهية in Lebanon at The Lebanese Organization for Studies and Training

The Recreational Activity Facilitator will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing recreational, educational, and psychosocial activities for children and adolescents participating in the Makani Project. The facilitator will promote positive social interaction, creativity, teamwork, and emotional well-being by creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and conduct recreational activities, games, arts and crafts, sports, and group activities appropriate to participants’ ages, needs, and abilities.
Encourage participation, creativity, teamwork, and positive communication among children and adolescents.
Create a safe, inclusive, and child-friendly environment that promotes respect, diversity, and equal participation.
Support the implementation of activities that contribute to children’s social and emotional development.
Adapt activities to accommodate children with different abilities and backgrounds.
Ensure that all activities comply with the project’s child safeguarding, protection, and code of conduct policies.
Monitor participants’ engagement and provide feedback to the project team on their progress and needs.
Maintain attendance records and prepare activity reports as required.
Coordinate with the project team to ensure activities are implemented according to the project work plan.
Report any safeguarding concerns or incidents through the established reporting mechanisms.
Ensure the proper use, storage, and maintenance of recreational materials and equipment.

Qualifications and Requirements

Degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Sports, Recreation, or a related field is an asset.
Previous experience in facilitating recreational, educational, or group activities, preferably with children and adolescents.
Experience working with children in community centers, schools, NGOs, or humanitarian settings is an advantage.
Good communication, interpersonal, and group management skills.
Ability to engage children and adolescents through interactive, creative, and participatory approaches.
Knowledge of child safeguarding and protection principles.
Ability to work effectively within a team and follow project guidelines and procedures.
Good organizational skills and the ability to manage time and multiple activities.
Fluency in Arabic is required; basic English is an asset.

Reporting Line

The Recreational Activity Facilitator will report to the designated Project Officer, Center Coordinator, or other assigned supervisor.
