Field Engineer
Job Description
Conduct field visits and detailed technical assessments of targeted houses.
Identify required repair and rehabilitation works for each housing unit.
Prepare cost estimates and Bills of Quantities (BoQs) based on the identified needs, in coordination with the Head of Office.
Support and supervise the technical assessment process.
Monitor implementation progress against agreed workplans and timelines.
Coordinate closely with contractors, project staff, and relevant stakeholders throughout implementation.
Supervision and Quality Assurance
Provide technical supervision and quality assurance for all repair and rehabilitation activities at project sites.
Monitor contractors' performance and ensure that works are implemented according to the approved BoQs and technical specifications.
Conduct regular monitoring visits and provide technical feedback and corrective recommendations when required.
Verify completed works and participate in final handover and acceptance visits.
Ensure that all works comply with approved specifications, contractual requirements, project standards, and ISWA's quality requirements.
Reporting
Prepare regular technical and progress reports on rehabilitation works conducted in the targeted houses.
Maintain proper documentation of assessments, BoQs, monitoring visits, completed works, and handover activities.
Report any implementation challenges, delays, or technical concerns to the project management team.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in construction, rehabilitation, or a related engineering field.
Previous experience supervising housing repair or rehabilitation works is preferred.
Understanding of humanitarian and development programming. Previous humanitarian experience is considered an asset.
Strong skills in cost estimation, BoQ preparation, technical reporting, and construction supervision.
Good organizational and communication skills.
Willingness and ability to travel regularly to project sites across Tyre and the surrounding areas.
