Protection and Inclusion Specialist (PGI) in Lebanon at First Step Together Association

FISTA is seeking an experienced Protection and Inclusion Specialist to coordinate its technical leadership of the Protection, Gender and Inclusion (PGI) Support Function under a specific program. Working across the consortium the Specialist will advance the PGI outcomes through partner capacity strengthening, intersectional localisation, cross-sectoral collaboration, technical support, and monitoring and evidence generation.

Key responsibilities

Coordinate the PGI workplan and support FISTA’s leadership of the consortium PGI Taskforce.
Assess partner capacities and coordinate training, mentoring and technical accompaniment on protective, gender-transformative and inclusive programming.
Advance engagement and capacity sharing with local women-led organisations, organisations of persons with disabilities, refugee-led organisations and youth-led organisations.
Strengthen technical collaboration with external protection, GBV, child protection, disability, safeguarding/PSEA and MHPSS actors.
Review programme approaches and institutional practices, provide PGI recommendations and follow up on agreed corrective actions.
Monitor PGI standards and results, identify gaps and risks, and consolidate evidence for reporting, learning and advocacy.
Maintain independent technical judgement and escalate material concerns through agreed channels.

Required profile

A relevant university degree and at least five years of progressive experience in protection and inclusion, including technical advisory work, partner capacity strengthening or multi-partner coordination. Strong protection and disability-inclusion expertise, understanding of gender equality and safeguarding, and experience in technical monitoring and reporting are required. Strong Arabic and English communication skills are essential. These proposed criteria are subject to FISTA’s validation.
