Summary

Creative Space Beirut (CSB) is an independent design school committed to widening access to high-quality design education. CSB provides a tuition-free three-year fashion design program and supports students and alumni through hands-on learning, mentorship and pathways into the fashion and creative industries.

CSB is launching Beyond the Studio – Fashion Practice and Professional Growth Masterclasses, a continuing education program for young creatives. This program is implemented by Creative Space Beirut, in partnership with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Lebanese Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA), commissioned by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The program aims to increase employment and income opportunities for young creatives by strengthening technical skills, career readiness, and employer engagement.

Central to this approach is a series of applied, participatory masterclasses delivered by experienced practitioners and facilitators. Each masterclass focuses on a specific, practical competency participants need in real workplace situations, built around applied exercises, real scenarios and direct feedback, so participants leave with concrete tools they can use immediately. Trainers are asked to bring both subject-matter expertise and strong facilitation skills, translating their own professional experience into structured, accessible learning for a diverse cohort of emerging designers and creatives.

Dependency / Stakeholders

CSB Program Coordination Team, participating cohort learners (~12–18), and, where relevant, founders, retailers, buyers, finance/commercial operators or distribution/e-commerce specialists contributing cases or a final clinic, arranged by CSB.

Employment Type

Consultancy – specialist masterclass trainer; approximately 12–15 contact hours for the initial run. Additional runs may be commissioned depending on participant demand, program capacity and trainer availability; exact session format co-developed with CSB.

Remuneration

€750–€900 for the agreed initial scope of work, including preparation, approximately 12–15 contact hours of delivery, coordination, review and participant feedback. The final fee will reflect the confirmed course scope and contact hours agreed with CSB. Any additional run will be subject to participant demand, program capacity and trainer availability, and will be agreed and remunerated separately.

Scope

The Trainer is responsible for delivering the Fashion Entrepreneurship & Business Building masterclass – a specialist working-brief module under CSB’s Commercial & Market Readiness track within the Beyond the Studio program.

The role includes helping participants translate an independent practice, freelance business or fashion-brand idea into a coherent, commercially viable and actionable business model, answering the core professional competency: can the participant define a viable business model for their creative practice or brand and make informed decisions about product, customer, pricing, operations and routes to market?

The position requires strong applied facilitation skills across business proposition, customer and market, value proposition, product/service offer, business-model logic, pricing/margins at a deeper level than the core commercial masterclass, costs and basic cash-flow thinking, production/operations, and distribution/sales channels, co-developing the final session structure with CSB within the agreed program framework.

This role does not include an inspirational founder talk, advanced accounting, detailed legal/company-registration training, deep digital marketing, or repetition of the basic costing content covered in the core commercial masterclass.

Responsibilities

1. Session Design and Delivery

Design and facilitate applied sessions covering business proposition, customer and market, value proposition, product/service offer, business-model logic, pricing/margins, costs and basic cash-flow thinking, and production/operations.
Guide participants toward a practical business blueprint – proposition, target customer, offer, pricing/revenue logic, key costs, operations, routes to market, risks and a 3-6 month action plan – as session output.
Deliver the agreed contact hours for the initial run in Beirut, online or hybrid format, including international remote delivery where appropriate.
Integrate budgeting/cash-flow tools, online market research, e-commerce/customer touchpoints and planning/project-management tools into session content.
Advise CSB/Program Coordination on whether founders, retailers, buyers, finance/commercial operators or distribution/e-commerce specialists would strengthen delivery through cases or a final clinic, and help integrate their contribution into the session once arranged.
Work with participants who are building their own brand, freelance/independent practice, creative business or product venture, tailoring content to that context.

2. Proposal, Coordination and Reporting

Propose recommended contact hours and session rhythm within the working course model.
Propose participant pre-work and prerequisites.
Propose applied exercises and the final output/evidence participants will produce.
Propose a feedback/critique approach and any between-session work.
Propose required materials, software, equipment or venue conditions.
Flag accessibility/support considerations and realistic group-size limits.
Co-develop and confirm the final session structure with CSB within the agreed program framework.

Minimum Requirements & Skills

Core Competencies

Creative/fashion entrepreneur, business strategist, commercial consultant, accelerator educator or operator experienced with early-stage creative/product businesses.
Ability to translate professional practice into an applied, participatory masterclass format.
Skilled in structuring feedback/critique on business blueprints.
Clear written and verbal communication.
Comfortable facilitating groups of ~12–18 participants.
Professional conduct that reflects CSB’s values.

Technical Qualifications

Experience working with early-stage creative or product businesses.
Comfortable with budgeting/cash-flow tools, online market research, e-commerce/customer touchpoints and planning/project-management tools.
Available to deliver sessions in Beirut, online or hybrid format, including international remote delivery.
Able to work within a ~12–15 contact-hour initial-run commitment, with openness to additional runs depending on demand, program capacity and trainer availability.
