Job Title: Psychosocial Support (PSS) Trainer
Location: Akkar Governorate, Lebanon
Contract Type: Service Contract
Training Duration:
- 8 training days
- Approximately 4 hours per day
- Total beneficiaries: 100 women
4. Objectives of the Assignment
The trainer will:
- Deliver structured psychosocial support sessions within safe spaces.
- Strengthen women's emotional resilience and coping capacities.
- Promote psychosocial wellbeing and positive mental health practices.
- Increase participants' confidence and self-esteem.
- Foster peer support and solidarity among women.
- Equip participants with practical stress management and self-care techniques.
- Create a safe environment that encourages respectful dialogue, trust, and mutual support.
5. Scope of Work
The trainer shall:
Preparation
- Develop a comprehensive training agenda and session plan.
- Prepare participatory training materials, presentations, exercises, and handouts.
- Ensure all materials are culturally appropriate and gender-sensitive.
- Coordinate with the CEWU project team regarding logistics and participant management.
Training Delivery
Facilitate interactive sessions covering topics such as:
- Introduction to psychosocial wellbeing
- Understanding stress and trauma in crisis contexts
- Emotional awareness and emotional regulation
- Healthy coping mechanisms
- Building resilience during difficult situations
- Self-care strategies
- Relaxation and breathing techniques
- Managing anxiety and emotional distress
- Strengthening self-confidence and self-worth
- Building supportive social networks
- Trust-building activities
- Communication and peer support
- Positive thinking and hope-building
- Identifying available support services and referral pathways
- Personal action planning for wellbeing
Participatory Methodologies
Use interactive learning methods including:
- Group discussions
- Guided reflection
- Individual exercises
- Stress relief activities
- Role plays
- Icebreakers
- Relaxation exercises
- Breathing techniques

Reporting
The trainer shall:
- Submit attendance sheets.
- Administer pre- and post-session assessments.
- Submit a brief final training report summarizing:
- Activities conducted
- Number of participants
- Key achievements
- Challenges encountered
- Recommendations
- Submit all training materials developed during the assignment.
6. Expected Deliverables
The trainer will deliver:
- Eight days of psychosocial support training for 100 women(2 days for 4 groups)
- Training agenda and session plan.
- PowerPoint presentation and training materials.
- Interactive exercises and participant handouts.
- Attendance records.
- Pre/post evaluation results.
- Final narrative training report.
7. Qualifications and Experience
The trainer should possess:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Mental Health, Education, Community Development, or a related field.
- A Master's degree is considered an asset.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience delivering psychosocial support (PSS) training.
- Demonstrated experience working with women and vulnerable communities.
- Experience in humanitarian and development projects.
- Experience using participatory adult learning methodologies.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed and survivor-centered approaches.
- Previous experience with UN agencies or international NGOs is an advantage.
Skills
- Excellent facilitation and communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and group management skills.
- Ability to create safe, inclusive, and confidential learning environments.
- Strong report writing skills.
- Fluency in Arabic is required; English is an asset.
8. Duration of the Assignment
The consultancy consists of:
- Preparation of training materials.
- Delivery of 8 training days.
- Submission of the final report and all deliverables.
The assignment is expected to be completed according to the project implementation schedule agreed upon with CEWU.
