4. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The trainer shall:
Training Preparation
- Develop a comprehensive training curriculum and agenda aligned with the project objectives.
- Prepare training presentations, manuals, handouts, practical exercises, and supporting materials in Arabic.
- Adapt the training materials to participants with varying educational and digital literacy levels.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager regarding training schedules, participant lists, logistics, and reporting requirements.
Digital Literacy Training
Deliver practical sessions covering topics including:
- Introduction to digital literacy.
- Basic computer and smartphone skills.
- Internet browsing and online communication.
- Email creation and management.
- Safe use of social media for personal and business purposes.
- Online safety, cybersecurity, and digital privacy.
- Identifying online scams and misinformation.
- Digital communication tools.
- Using digital applications for business operations.
- Introduction to online marketing platforms.
- Digital payment methods and electronic transactions.
Financial Management Training
Deliver practical sessions covering topics including:
- Personal financial management.
- Budget preparation and financial planning.
- Income and expense tracking.
- Savings strategies.
- Cash flow management.
- Cost calculation and pricing.
- Profit and loss calculation.
- Record keeping for small businesses.
- Basic bookkeeping.
- Financial decision-making.
- Managing business finances separately from household finances.
- Introduction to banking services and digital financial tools.
Practical Learning
- Facilitate group discussions, simulations, role plays, and practical exercises.
- Support participants in developing simple financial plans and budgets.
- Guide participants in using digital tools to support their businesses.
- Encourage peer learning and active participation throughout the training.
Monitoring and Reporting
- Administer pre- and post-training assessments.
- Monitor participant attendance and engagement.
- Submit attendance sheets after each training session.
- Prepare and submit a final training report summarizing:
- Training activities conducted.
- Number of participants trained.
- Assessment results.
- Challenges encountered.
- Recommendations.
- Photos and supporting documentation.
Coordination
- Coordinate regularly with the Project Manager and M&E Officer.
- Support project visibility requirements where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with CEWU safeguarding, protection, gender equality, and anti-fraud policies.
5. Expected Deliverables
The trainer shall submit:
- Training curriculum and agenda.
- PowerPoint presentations.
- Participant handouts and training materials.
- Pre- and post-test tools.
- Attendance sheets.
- Daily training reports.
- Final training report.
- Photo documentation.
- Electronic copies of all training materials.
6. Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate should possess:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Education, or another relevant field.
- A Master's degree is considered an asset.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience delivering training in digital literacy, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, or business development.
- Previous experience working with NGOs, UN agencies, or donor-funded projects.
- Experience training women, youth, or vulnerable groups.
- Strong facilitation and adult learning skills.
- Experience developing participatory training materials.
- Experience using practical learning methodologies.
Skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong facilitation abilities.
- Ability to simplify technical concepts.
- Knowledge of gender-sensitive and participatory training approaches.
- Strong organizational and reporting skills.
- Fluency in Arabic.
- Good command of English.
7. Duration of Assignment
The trainer will deliver the Digital Literacy and Financial Management Training according to the approved project implementation plan.
The exact number of training days and schedule will be agreed upon before contract signature.
8. Contract Details
- Contract Type: Service Agreement.
- Location: Akkar, Lebanon.
- Reporting Line: Project Manager.
- Payment: Based on successful completion of agreed deliverables, submission of attendance sheets, training reports, and acceptance of all required outputs by CEWU.
- The trainer shall use their own laptop and professional training materials unless otherwise agreed by CEWU.
9. Performance Indicators
Performance will be assessed based on:
- Quality of training delivery.
- Participant attendance and engagement.
- Timely submission of all deliverables.
- Quality of training materials.
- Participant satisfaction.
- Achievement of learning outcomes demonstrated through pre- and post-assessments.
- Compliance with project standards, safeguarding policies, and donor requirements.
