Purpose of the Position:
The Digital Officer will support the Makani and Dirasa programs in the effective integration, coordination and monitoring of digital learning activities and digital tools. The position will work closely with Project Coordinators, Center Coordinators, education teams, teachers, data staff and other relevant colleagues to ensure that digital learning activities are organized, accessible, properly documented and implemented in line with approved program plans and donor requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and follow up digital learning activities implemented under Makani and Dirasa across assigned centers and implementation locations.
Support the use of approved digital learning platforms, applications, tablets and other educational technology used within the programs.
Provide practical technical support and guidance to Center Coordinators, teachers, facilitators and other relevant staff on the use of digital tools and platforms.
Support the orientation and capacity building of staff and participants on digital learning tools, responsible technology use and basic digital literacy.
Monitor the implementation and utilization of digital learning activities and identify gaps affecting access, participation or quality.
Conduct regular field visits to follow up digital activities, equipment use, connectivity issues and implementation challenges.
Maintain updated records and inventories of tablets, devices and other digital equipment assigned to the programs, in coordination with logistics and relevant center staff.
Support the proper allocation, tracking, storage and safe use of digital equipment and immediately report loss, damage or misuse through the appropriate channels.
Coordinate with education and data teams to maintain accurate records on digital learning participation, usage and relevant program indicators.
Prepare regular updates and reports on digital activities, achievements, challenges, equipment status and follow-up actions.
Support the collection and organization of digital learning evidence and documentation required for internal monitoring and donor reporting.
Assist teams in troubleshooting basic technical issues and coordinate escalation of more complex technical problems to the appropriate IT or service provider.
Support the development and organization of digital educational content and resources in coordination with the education team and in line with approved curricula and program objectives.
Promote safe, inclusive and age-appropriate digital learning practices, including responsible use of devices and online platforms.
Ensure that digital activities respect safeguarding, child protection, PSEA, data protection, confidentiality and informed-consent requirements.
Coordinate closely with Project Coordinators and relevant program teams to ensure that digital activities respond to implementation priorities and beneficiary needs.
Support digital components during special activities, trainings, workshops, monitoring visits and emergency- response activities when required.
Perform other related duties assigned by project management according to operational needs.
Work under the supervision of the Project Coordinator / designated program management.
Coordinate regularly with Makani and Dirasa Center Coordinators, education personnel, outreach teams, data staff, logistics and other relevant colleagues.
Provide timely information on implementation progress, technical challenges, equipment needs and corrective actions.
Participate in relevant program coordination meetings, trainings and review sessions.
Other Duties:
The responsibilities listed in this TOR are not exhaustive. The Digital Officer may be requested to undertake other relevant duties consistent with the position and the operational requirements of the Makani and Dirasa programs.
Expected Deliverables:
Updated digital learning implementation and follow-up records for Makani and Dirasa.
Regular monitoring updates on digital learning activities, participation and implementation challenges.
Updated inventory and tracking records for program digital devices and equipment.
Timely documentation of technical issues, actions taken and unresolved needs.
Support and orientation provided to relevant program staff on approved digital tools.
Accurate inputs for program reports and monitoring requirements related to digital learning.
Qualifications, Skills and Requiremnets:
University degree in information technology, education technology, computer science, education, project management or another relevant field.
Relevant experience in digital learning, educational technology, ICT support, education programming or humanitarian/development projects.
Experience supporting users with digital platforms, tablets, applications and basic technical troubleshooting.
Experience working in education or community-based programs is an asset.
Experience with data collection, digital reporting tools and equipment tracking is an asset.
Strong digital literacy and ability to learn and support different digital platforms and tools.
Good organizational, documentation and follow-up skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain technical information clearly to non- technical users.
Ability to coordinate across multiple centers, teams and priorities.
Problem-solving skills and ability to respond appropriately to field-level technical and operational challenges.
Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare concise reports.
Commitment to teamwork, accountability, inclusion and service quality.
Good command of Arabic; English is an asset.
