Role Overview:
Ahla Fawda is seeking a creative, detail-oriented Graphic Designer Intern to support our team with general graphic design and visual communications. This is a hands-on role combining print media design, social media asset creation, and branding development across all Ahla Fawda projects, events, and community initiatives.
The Graphic Designer Intern will work closely with the Communications and Marketing team to transform community stories, campaigns, and events into clear, engaging visual assets.
Key Responsibilities
Printables & Marketing Collateral
- Design print-ready materials, including flyers, posters, brochures, banners, stickers, and event backdrops for community initiatives and workshops.
- Create printable templates, certificates, labels, and event stationery as needed.
Social Media Content & Digital Assets
- Create graphics, stories, carousel posts, and banners for Ahla Fawda’s social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn).
- Adapt announcement graphics for ongoing programs, emergency responses, and fundraising campaigns to keep the community informed and engaged.
Branding & Visual Identity
- Support the creation and refinement of branding items, including logos, visual guidelines, color palettes, and brand templates for new projects or events.
- Ensure all created materials maintain a consistent, professional, and recognizable visual identity for the organization.
General Design & Administrative Support
- Assist with basic photo editing, cropping, and color correction for field photos and event coverage.
- Help organize and maintain a shared digital library of visual assets (logos, icons, fonts, templates, and photos).
- Format presentations, pitch decks, and document covers for reports (Donor report, Impact report etc.), proposals, and donor updates.
- Support other departments with quick, on-demand graphic requests and layout adjustments.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related creative field.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or equivalent software (e.g., Canva, Figma).
- Good understanding of typography, layout composition, color theory, and print preparation.
- Ability to take creative direction, incorporate feedback, and deliver work on time.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple design requests across different projects.
- A portfolio or selection of work demonstrating basic design skills (academic, personal, or professional).
- Genuine interest in community-driven work, environmental sustainability, and humanitarian causes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic bilingual layout skills (ability to work with Arabic and English typography).
- Basic motion graphics or video editing skills (e.g., CapCut, Premiere Pro) for simple social media reels/stories.
- Basic photo editing or photography background.
