Action against Hunger is an international non-governmental, private, apolitical, non-religious and non-profit organization created in 1979. Its goal is to combat hunger and dangerous situations that threaten men, women, and children. Currently 500 expats and more than 5,000 employees are working for Action against Hunger in more than forty-six countries working in projects concerning four areas of focus: nutrition, health, food security and water and sanitation.

In Lebanon, the Syrian crisis continues to generate political, social, and economic pressure due to the war in Lebanon and keeps more than 1.5 million refugees in a situation of increasing vulnerability. In this environment of political, economic and social uncertainty, our teams have maintained their high levels of humanitarian response and aid to Lebanon. Likewise, our interventions have been maintained in the Bekaa and northern areas, as well as in the south of the country, with a special focus on working in partnership or in consortium with other organizations and on institutional strengthening of the relationship with both donors. institutional, such as with local authorities and entities.

Action against hunger (ACF) is seeking dynamic and active Community Health Outreach Workers (CHOWs) to conduct outreach activities and provide awareness sessions in Beirut Mount Lebanon. CHOWs will receive training, support and coaching from ACF to be able to disseminate information regarding breastfeeding, vaccination, and malnutrition to pregnant and breastfeeding women in their communities.

The role and responsibilities of Community Health Outreach Workers (CHOWs):

Community Outreach to caregivers, pregnant and lactating women
Conduct Nutrition and Health awareness sessions
Examination of Malnutrition by measuring the circumference of the middle of the arm for pregnant and lactating women and children from 6 months to 5 years old, in addition to referring cases of malnutrition to the nutrition officer in Action Against Hunger.

Facilitate the Distribution of Supplements with the Nutrition Officer

Considerations:

The community health outreach worker will work 66 hours per month and receive incentive of $5/hour.

As the project tackles both nutrition and breastfeeding, female CHOWs will be recruited.
Tentative starting date: as soon as possible.

Qualifications:

The applicant must be a female aged 18 years or older.
It is preferred that she holds an educational degree in nutrition, nursing, health, or related fields.

فحص سوء التغذية من خلال قياس محيط منتصف الذراع للنساء الحوامل والمرضعات وللأطفال من عمر 6 أشهر إلى 5 سنوات، بالإضافة إلى تحويل حالات سوء التغذية إلى موظفة التغذية في منظمة العمل ضد الجوع
تسجيل بيانات المستفيدات والمستفيدين
تسهيل توزيع المتممات الغذائية وشرح كيفية تقديمها للأطفال بحسب الفئة العمرية المتفق عليها بالتعاون مع موظفات المنظمة

تعمل منشطات المجتمع لمدة 66 ساعة شهريًا، ويتقاضين بدلًا قدره 5 دولارات/الساعة
