Role Description This part-time hybrid Sustainability Director role is based in Southern Governorate, Bahrain, with flexibility for partial work from home. The Sustainability Director will develop and oversee the organization’s sustainability strategy, integrating environmental and social responsibility into core business operations. Daily responsibilities include leading sustainability initiatives, coordinating cross-functional projects, and advising leadership on targets related to carbon, resource efficiency, and responsible practices. The role involves preparing internal and external sustainability reports, aligning activities with local and international standards, and engaging stakeholders, including employees, partners, and community organizations. The Sustainability Director will monitor performance metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and ensure compliance with relevant environmental and social regulations.
Qualifications
- * Demonstrated expertise in Corporate Sustainability, including strategy development and integration into business processes.
- Experience in Sustainability Reporting and familiarity with common frameworks and standards (e.g., GRI, ESG-related guidelines).
- Knowledge of Corporate Social Responsibility, including community engagement, ethical practices, and stakeholder relations.
- Understanding of Carbon management, including measurement, reduction initiatives, and climate-related risk considerations.
- Background in Environmental Science or a related field, with the ability to interpret environmental data and regulations.
- Relevant academic qualification (e.g., bachelor’s or master’s degree in sustainability, environmental science, business, or a related discipline).
- Strong analytical, project management, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives part time.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to senior leadership and diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid arrangement, collaborating on-site in Southern Governorate, Bahrain and remotely as needed.
