Role Description The Senior Structural Engineer will lead the structural design, analysis, and review of building and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with local regulations, international standards, and client requirements. This full-time on-site role, based in Doha, Qatar, involves preparing and checking structural calculations, drawings, and specifications, and coordinating with architects, MEP engineers, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. The role includes overseeing site inspections, monitoring construction to verify adherence to design, resolving technical issues, and supporting value engineering and optimization of structural systems. The Senior Structural Engineer will mentor junior engineers, support tender evaluations, contribute to technical proposals, and participate in quality control and safety initiatives across projects.
Qualifications
- * Strong expertise in structural analysis and design for reinforced concrete and steel structures using relevant codes and standards (e.g., Eurocodes, ACI, BS, local Qatari regulations).
- Proficiency with structural engineering software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, STAAD, Robot, or similar) and CAD/BIM tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) for modeling and documentation.
- Experience in building projects such as high-rise towers, residential compounds, hospitals, hotels, schools, and mixed-use developments, preferably in the Gulf region.
- Demonstrated ability to review and interpret architectural and MEP drawings, coordinate multidisciplinary designs, and provide constructability and value engineering input.
- Solid knowledge of construction methods, materials, and site practices, including supervision of structural works, inspection procedures, and quality assurance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with attention to detail and a focus on safety and long-term performance.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead and mentor junior engineers and work closely with contractors, consultants, and clients.
