Role Description The Senior Cost Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Alexandria, Egypt. This role is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and monitoring cost reports, budgets, and variance analyses to support informed decision-making and cost efficiency. Daily activities include recording and reviewing cost-related journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate allocation of overhead and production costs. The Senior Cost Accountant will collaborate with finance and operations teams to develop standard costing, evaluate margin performance, and support inventory valuation and control. The role also involves preparing internal management reports, supporting financial statement preparation, assisting with audits, and recommending process improvements to strengthen internal controls and financial accuracy.
Qualifications
* Strong expertise in Cost Accounting and practical experience with cost analysis and standard costing.
* Proficiency in Finance and Financial Statements, including budgeting, reporting, and variance analysis.
* Robust Analytical Skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide clear insights and recommendations.
* Hands-on experience with Journal Entries (Accounting) and general ledger processes.
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CMA, CPA) are an advantage.
* Advanced Excel and ERP/system skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to work on-site in Alexandria, Egypt, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
* Relevant experience in manufacturing or a similar cost-intensive environment is highly beneficial.
