Role Description The Senior Captain (Clinical Pharmacist) is a full-time, on-site role based in Farwaniya, responsible for providing advanced clinical pharmacy services to military personnel and associated beneficiaries. Daily tasks include reviewing and verifying medication orders, conducting thorough medication therapy management, and ensuring safe, effective, and evidence-based pharmacotherapy in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. The role involves counseling patients on proper medication use, monitoring for adverse effects and interactions, and maintaining accurate, confidential clinical documentation. The Senior Captain will also participate in developing and implementing medication-related policies, contribute to quality improvement initiatives, support pharmacovigilance activities, and provide training or guidance to junior pharmacy staff. This role requires adherence to military protocols, high professional integrity, and a commitment to service in a disciplined healthcare environment.
Qualifications
* Demonstrated expertise in clinical pharmacy practice, including medication therapy management, pharmacotherapy review, and patient counseling.
* Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, dosing protocols, and evidence-based treatment guidelines relevant to acute and primary care settings.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary medical teams, communicate clearly with patients and colleagues, and provide clinical recommendations.
* Proficiency in maintaining accurate medical records, using pharmacy information systems, and following regulatory and institutional policies.
* Experience in developing or implementing medication safety initiatives, quality improvement projects, or clinical protocols is highly desirable.
* Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree; valid pharmacist licensure/registration in Kuwait or eligibility according to national regulations.
* Previous experience in hospital or clinical pharmacy settings; experience in military or government healthcare systems is an advantage.
* Ability to work in an on-site, structured, and disciplined environment, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Proficiency in English; Arabic language skills are beneficial.
