Role Description The Senior Business Development Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Cairo, responsible for driving new business opportunities within the engineering, construction, and infrastructure sectors. This role involves identifying and qualifying leads, building and maintaining client relationships, and preparing technical and commercial proposals that align with IDC Group’s service offerings. The Senior Business Development Engineer collaborates closely with engineering, project management, and finance teams to develop competitive solutions, support bid strategies, and ensure accurate costing and technical alignment. Daily tasks include conducting market and competitor analysis, attending client meetings, presenting solutions, and following up on opportunities to move them through the sales pipeline. The role also includes participating in contract negotiations, contributing to strategic planning, and providing regular reporting on business development activities and performance.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Business Development and New Business Development skills, with experience in identifying opportunities, building pipelines, and expanding market presence.
- Candidates should possess solid Sales and Communication skills to effectively present solutions, negotiate with clients, and maintain long-term relationships.
- Candidates should possess robust Analytical Skills to interpret market data, evaluate project feasibility, and support pricing and bid decisions.
- Candidates should ideally have experience more than 5 years in engineering, EPC contracting, construction, or infrastructure development, with the ability to understand technical scopes and project requirements.
- Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; an advanced degree or relevant certifications in project management or sales is an advantage.
- Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and within cross-functional teams.
- Candidates should have proven experience in client-facing roles, strong presentation skills, and fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is highly beneficial.
