Job Summary
The Senior Quality Control Operator performs advanced and priority QC activities, ensures high-quality execution of routine laboratory work and supports the QC Manager in day-to-day technical coordination. The role provides technical guidance to QC Operators, performs first-level troubleshooting and verifies the completeness and consistency of laboratory documentation before managerial review.
Key responsibilities
- Perform sampling and physical, chemical and performance testing of raw materials, in-process materials and finished products using approved methods and specifications.
- Execute complex, critical, non-routine or high-priority tests independently within established methods and authorization limits.
- Support QC Operators with routine digital workflows and basic ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning, i.e. SAP) system data entry, performing first-level checks on digital records and escalating IT or system issues when needed.
- Review laboratory worksheets, calculations and test records prepared by QC Operators for completeness, traceability and obvious inconsistencies before escalation to the QC Manager.
- Support allocation of daily laboratory work, prioritization of urgent samples and communication of status to the QC Manager.
- Perform first-level troubleshooting for test execution, sample preparation, equipment operation and data-recording issues; document actions and escalate unresolved matters.
- Identify, contain and promptly escalate atypical results, OOS (Out-of-Specification) / OOT (Out-of-Trend) indications, method deviations, sample issues, equipment failures and potential data-integrity concerns.
- Provide structured on-the-job training and practical qualification support for QC Operators on approved methods, sampling, equipment use, documentation and laboratory discipline.
- Support verification of equipment readiness, calibration status, sample archives, reagent/consumable availability and housekeeping.
- Participate in pre-production checks, routine process/product verification and investigations assigned by the QC Manager.
- Contribute technical observations to trend analysis, method optimization, SOP(Standard Operating Procedure) updates and continuous-improvement initiatives.
Decision authority
- Prioritizes assigned work and provides operational direction to QC Operators during the shift or day, in line with the QC Manager’s plan.
- Verifies technical completeness of routine records before managerial approval.
- May stop or suspend an analysis when safety, equipment status, sample identity or data integrity is in doubt; must document and escalate immediately.
- In the absence of QC Manager can authorize final result approval, product release, lot disposition, deviation closure, CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) closure or specification changes.

- QC Manager, QC Operators, Production supervisors, R&D technical staff, Maintenance for routine operational coordination and IT support / ERP key users for routine issue escalation.

Required qualifications and experience
- Technical diploma or degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Materials Science or equivalent.
- Solid experience in QC laboratory activities in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated autonomy in approved test methods, result interpretation, documentation and routine troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated ability to train and support less experienced laboratory personnel.
- Practical familiarity with company digital tools and ERP systems (such as SAP) for basic data input, search, and record verification.
- Good general digital literacy (e.g., standard PC use, MS Excel/Office) and comfort in supporting peers with everyday digital tasks.
