Job PurposeThe Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O Technical Developer will be responsible for the technical ownership, development, customization, workflow configuration, integration, enhancement, and support of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O). The role will work closely with business teams, functional consultants, the D365 Administrator, and implementation partners to translate approved business requirements into scalable, supportable D365 solutions and ensure the platform continues to evolve with business needs.
The role is primarily focused on D365 technical development, extensions, integrations, reporting, and release management, rather than day-to-day user administration, business process ownership, or enterprise architecture approval.
Key Responsibilities• Develop and customize Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations using X++ and the extension framework, in line with Microsoft development best practices.
• Perform technical analysis of approved business requirements and recommend suitable, supportable solutions.
• Design, configure, and enhance business workflows and approval processes.
• Develop custom forms, tables, classes, queries, data entities, batch processes, and business logic.
• Build and maintain integrations between D365 and external systems, including CRM, banking, HR, payroll, and other enterprise applications.
• Develop and support APIs, OData services, REST integrations, custom services, and middleware connections.
• Develop and modify SSRS reports, financial reports, business documents, and dashboards.
• Create Power Automate workflows and Power Platform solutions where required.
• Develop data migration scripts, data entities, and import/export processes using the Data Management Framework.
• Support master-data and transactional-data migration activities, including validation and reconciliation.
• Troubleshoot application errors, workflow failures, integration issues, and system defects, and perform root-cause analysis.
• Monitor batch jobs, integrations, workflows, and automated processes, and resolve technical exceptions.
• Manage source control, branching, build pipelines, deployable packages, and release documentation through Azure DevOps.
• Manage deployments across Development, Test/UAT, and Production environments in line with approved change and release procedures.
• Ensure all technical changes are properly tested, including unit testing, regression testing, and UAT support, before production deployment.
• Coordinate Microsoft service updates and releases from a technical perspective, including code compatibility checks and regression testing.
• Perform code reviews and ensure coding standards, performance, and security best practices are followed.
• Support user access, security roles, privileges, and application controls when required, in coordination with the D365 Administrator.
• Provide technical support to Finance and other business departments.
• Coordinate technical activities with Microsoft partners and third-party vendors.
• Maintain technical documentation, technical designs, solution designs, development records, integration specifications, and deployment procedures.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement within D365.
• Support ongoing ERP enhancements after implementation and go-live.
Required Qualifications and Experience• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O technical development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with X++ development.
• Strong knowledge of D365 F&O architecture and the extension framework.
• Experience with D365 workflows and approval processes.
• Experience developing tables, forms, classes, queries, data entities, and batch jobs.
• Strong knowledge of SSRS reporting.
• Experience with the D365 Data Management Framework.
• Experience with REST APIs, OData, web services, and system integrations.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure integration technologies.
• Experience with Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, and Dataverse.
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps, source control, build pipelines, and deployment processes.
• Experience with D365 environment management and application lifecycle management (ALM).
• Experience with multi-company and multi-legal-entity environments will be an advantage.
• Experience integrating D365 with Salesforce or other CRM platforms will be an advantage.
• Experience with banking and financial-system integrations will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Service Bus, and middleware platforms will be an advantage.
• Understanding of UAE VAT, e-invoicing, and financial compliance requirements will be an advantage.
• Experience within real estate, property development, or construction environments will be an advantage.
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations technical certification will be preferred.

Role BoundaryThis position is primarily responsible for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations technical development, customization, workflow configuration, integrations, reporting, data migration, source control, and technical release management.
The role will not own day-to-day D365 user administration, user provisioning, or access reviews, which remain with the D365 Administrator. Business process design, financial policy, chart-of-accounts ownership, and accounting decisions remain with Finance and the relevant business owners. Enterprise architecture, integration architecture approval, and production change approval will remain with the Enterprise Applications & Integration Lead and the relevant change governance process.
