Role Description The MEP Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Abu Dhabi, responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works across various projects. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing project drawings and specifications, performing quantity take-offs, and analyzing labor, material, and equipment costs. The role involves coordinating with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to obtain pricing, clarify scope, and ensure estimates reflect technical requirements and compliance standards. The MEP Estimator will prepare tender documents, support bid submissions, and participate in value engineering discussions to optimize project costs without compromising quality. The position also requires maintaining up-to-date cost databases, tracking market prices, and contributing to continuous improvement of estimating processes and tools.
Qualifications
- * Strong MEP estimating skills, including quantity take-offs, cost analysis, and tender preparation for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documents.
- Experience with estimating software and MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with CAD and BIM tools is an advantage.
- Knowledge of UAE construction standards, local codes, and industry best practices, particularly within oil & gas, petrochemical, power, water, and building sectors.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with project teams, consultants, and suppliers.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy under time constraints.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field; professional certifications in estimating or cost engineering are beneficial.
- Previous experience as an MEP Estimator or in a similar role with an electromechanical contractor in the GCC region is highly preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in Abu Dhabi, manage multiple tenders simultaneously, and adapt to changing project requirements.
