Role Description This full-time, on-site Mechanical Engineer role is based in Doha, Qatar. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing, reviewing, and optimizing mechanical systems and components for construction and infrastructure projects, using industry standards and best practices. Daily tasks include preparing and updating CAD models and technical drawings, conducting calculations and simulations, coordinating with project managers and other engineering disciplines, and supporting procurement and installation activities. The role involves performing site visits to monitor installation and commissioning, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and ensuring compliance with local regulations, safety guidelines, and company standards. The Mechanical Engineer will also contribute to research and development initiatives, provide technical documentation, and support continuous improvement of engineering processes.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, including knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in Machine Design, with ability to develop and analyze mechanical components and assemblies for durability and performance.
- Skilled in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for creating detailed 2D drawings and 3D models, and revising designs based on feedback.
- Experience in Project Management, including planning, scheduling, coordination with stakeholders, and tracking project deliverables.
- Background in Research and Development (R&D), with ability to investigate new technologies, improve existing designs, and document findings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline; advanced degree is an advantage.
- Knowledge of construction and infrastructure project workflows, relevant codes and standards, and safety practices in Qatar or the GCC region.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate in a multicultural, multidisciplinary environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and quality.
- Professional engineering certification or membership in a recognized engineering body is a plus.
