*Role Descr*iption The Marine Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Alexandria, Egypt. This position is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities related to shipping operations, including recording and reconciling port charges and portcall-associated expenses. The role includes preparing invoices, monitoring receivables and payables, supporting month-end and year-end closing, and ensuring accurate financial reporting for clients. The Marine Accountant collaborates with operations. The role also involves maintaining compliance with relevant accounting standards, internal controls, and local regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
* Strong core accounting skills, including general ledger management, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.
* Experience in cost accounting or project accounting, preferably within shipping, logistics, or trading environments.
* Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel, with the ability to work accurately with large data sets and financial reports.
* Knowledge of local tax regulations and financial compliance standards relevant to Egypt and international maritime operations.
* Effective analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a structured approach to documentation.
* Clear written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Bachelor’s degree in Acc Finance, or a related field.
* epxerience on shipping accounts is an advantage.
