Position Summary
The HR Administrator will be responsible for managing the day-to-day Human Resources and payroll activities for MHCEG’s Cairo office. The role will serve as the primary local HR contact for employees and will work closely with the HR Manager in Canada to ensure effective, accurate, and consistent HR practices.
The successful candidate will be a hands-on HR professional who can independently manage a broad range of HR and payroll activities while providing professional support to employees and management.
Key Responsibilities
HR Administration
- Manage day-to-day HR activities for employees in the Cairo office.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.
- Manage employee onboarding, offboarding, employment contracts, and personnel changes.
- Respond to employee HR inquiries and provide guidance on company policies and procedures.
- Track vacation, leave, attendance, and other employee-related information.
Payroll & Benefits
- Coordinate and administer the monthly payroll process for Cairo employees.
- Review and validate payroll inputs, including salaries, allowances, overtime, deductions, bonuses, and leave.
- Coordinate with payroll providers, Finance, and other external service providers as required.
- Administer employee benefits and respond to employee questions regarding payroll and benefits.
- Ensure payroll records and documentation are accurate, complete, and confidential.
Recruitment & Employee Support
- Support recruitment activities, including job postings, interviews, offers, and pre-employment documentation.
- Coordinate new employee onboarding and ensure all required documentation is completed.
- Provide day-to-day HR support to employees and managers.
- Assist with employee relations, performance management, and other HR matters as required, escalating sensitive or complex matters to the HR Manager in Canada.
Compliance & Reporting
- Maintain awareness of applicable Egyptian employment, payroll, and statutory requirements.
- Ensure required HR and payroll records are maintained appropriately.
- Prepare regular HR and payroll reports for the HR Manager in Canada.
- Support HR audits and other reporting requirements as needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve local HR processes and ensure alignment with MHCEG policies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of progressive HR experience, with strong experience in HR administration and payroll.
- Solid knowledge of HR and payroll practices in Egypt.
- Working knowledge of applicable Egyptian employment and statutory requirements.
- Experience with HRIS and/or payroll systems.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Experience in an engineering consultancy, professional services, or similar project-based environment is preferred.
- Fluency in English and Arabic is preferred/required.
