Role Description The Heating Air Conditioning Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Ras Laffan. The technician installs, maintains, and repairs HVAC systems, including chillers, air handlers, split units, and package units. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing system issues, performing troubleshooting on mechanical and electrical components, and carrying out scheduled preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency. The role involves inspecting and testing equipment, replacing or repairing parts, managing refrigerants in compliance with regulations, and coordinating with supervisors and other trades on site. The technician also maintains accurate service records, follows safety procedures, and supports continuous improvement of maintenance practices.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong troubleshooting skills for HVAC systems and related mechanical components.
- Candidates should possess plumbing skills relevant to HVAC installations, condensate drainage, and piping connections.
- Candidates should possess preventive maintenance skills, including routine inspections, cleaning, adjustments, and scheduled servicing.
- Candidates should possess EPA-related knowledge or equivalent refrigerant handling certification, with safe practices for refrigerant recovery and charging.
- Candidates should possess basic to intermediate electricity skills, including reading wiring diagrams, working with control circuits, and using electrical testing tools.
- Technical diploma or certificate in HVAC, Mechanical, or Electrical Technology (or equivalent practical experience) is preferred.
- Experience in industrial or commercial HVAC environments, ideally within energy or petrochemical facilities, is beneficial.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, maintenance procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and capability to work in a team-oriented, on-site environment.
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, or call-outs as operational needs require.
