Head of Investments, Growathon Ventures
Amsterdam · Full-time · Senior leadership
Growathon Ventures is an Amsterdam-based European venture capital firm investing from pre-seed to Series A. We back system innovation, not features: companies that redesign how a market, institution, or human system works, rather than adding a layer to one that already exists. Fund I backs sovereign AI × Human systems in the future of finance, food, and work & life.
Three things set every company we back apart: deeptech at the core, sustainable by design, and led by female founders.
The firm is led by founding General Partner Esma Choho, a proven market maker who moved first in five markets over three decades, years before each became a recognised category.
Your mission
Over the next three years, you build the investment function that institutional LPs will judge us by. That means a disciplined process, a portfolio that proves the thesis, and a track record strong enough to carry Fund II.
What you will do
- Build and run the investment process: screening, diligence, IC preparation, documentation, and closing.
- Shape portfolio construction and reserve strategy from pre-seed through Series A.
- Lead deals and take board or observer seats.
- Own valuation, portfolio monitoring, and LP reporting to ILPA and Invest Europe standards.
- Work with the founding General Partner on fund strategy and Fund II readiness.
- Build and develop the investment team.
What you bring
- 15+ years across venture capital and institutional finance, with a record of leading early-stage investments.
- Evidence that you have changed how you invest as AI has changed how companies are built.
- The ability to tell a system shift from a feature, and the discipline to pass on the second.
- Experience underwriting deeptech, where technical risk and market risk have to be priced together.
- Fluency in what institutional LPs expect on governance, reporting, risk, and AIFMD.
- A network across European founders, co-investors, and institutional capital.
- Based in, or willing to relocate to, Amsterdam. English required; Dutch an advantage.
What you gain
The lead role in turning an established thesis into a track record, with a portfolio and results that carry your judgment, and long-term economics aligned with fund performance.
