Role Description The EOT Crane Technician and Rigger is a full-time, on-site role based in Doha, Qatar. This role involves performing routine inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance on EOT (Electric Overhead Travelling) cranes, including mechanical, electrical, and control systems. The technician will carry out corrective repairs, assist in installations and commissioning of cranes, and ensure all work complies with safety regulations and manufacturer specifications. As a rigger, the role includes planning and executing safe lifting operations, selecting and inspecting lifting gear, and coordinating with crane operators and site supervisors to move loads safely. The position also requires maintaining accurate service records, reporting defects, and communicating clearly with clients and internal teams to support safe and efficient site operations.
Qualifications
* Strong technical knowledge of EOT cranes, including mechanical, electrical, and control systems, and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
* Experience in rigging activities, including load calculations, proper use and inspection of lifting gear, and safe signaling and coordination during lifting operations.
* Understanding of safety standards and regulations related to lifting operations and crane maintenance, with a commitment to safe work practices and hazard identification.
* Ability to perform fault finding, preventive and corrective maintenance, and basic diagnostic testing using relevant tools and equipment.
* Relevant technical qualification or diploma in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance, or equivalent practical experience in crane maintenance and rigging.
* Prior experience in industrial, construction, or lifting equipment environments, preferably within the Middle East or similar heavy-industry settings.
* Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work on-site, follow instructions, and coordinate effectively with supervisors, operators, and clients.
* Willingness to work in field conditions, at heights when required, and to follow company procedures and quality standards.
