Allegiance Staffing is recruiting an experienced Electrical Estimator for a client in Goldsboro, North Carolina.
The Electrical Estimator will prepare accurate cost estimates and competitive bids for electrical construction projects. This position reviews project drawings, specifications, and scopes of work; performs material and labor takeoffs; obtains supplier and subcontractor pricing; and develops estimates that meet project requirements and established margins.
The ideal candidate has strong electrical knowledge, understands construction drawings and specifications, and has experience developing comprehensive project estimates from initial scope through final bid.
Key Responsibilities
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and bid documents.
- Perform detailed material, equipment, and labor takeoffs.
- Prepare estimates for electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, low-voltage systems, controls, and other electrical installations.
- Obtain, review, and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.
- Develop labor-hour estimates, material costs, equipment costs, subcontractor costs, and project allowances.
- Analyze project requirements and identify scope gaps, exclusions, assumptions, and potential risks.
- Prepare competitive bids and proposals in accordance with project specifications and deadlines.
- Utilize estimating software, spreadsheets, and databases to maintain accurate pricing and cost information.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, vendors, and clients to clarify scope, specifications, and pricing.
- Track potential and active projects throughout the estimating and bidding process.
- Assist with bid management and document control as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience preparing electrical construction estimates.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and construction practices.
- Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Ability to prepare scopes of work.
- Experience with pricing, purchasing, negotiations, and preparing purchase orders for materials and equipment.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and related business applications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent planning, collaboration, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
- Commitment to workplace and jobsite safety standards, policies, and procedures.
