Role Description The Deputy Manager and Design Power Transformer role is a full-time on-site position based in Cairo, Egypt. This role is responsible for overseeing the design and development of power transformers, including preparing technical designs, specifications, and drawings, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and client requirements. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating with engineering, production, and quality teams; reviewing and approving design calculations; and resolving technical issues during manufacturing and testing. The role involves participating in project planning, supporting tender and proposal activities with technical input, and optimizing designs for performance, cost, and reliability. The Deputy Manager will also mentor junior engineers, contribute to process improvements, and support continuous enhancement of ELMACO’s transformer product portfolio.
Qualifications
* Strong foundation in electrical engineering, with specialized knowledge in power transformers, magnetic circuits, insulation systems, and thermal design.
* Proficiency in transformer design calculations, technical drawing, and use of relevant CAD/CAE tools and engineering software.
* Experience with international standards and regulations related to transformers (such as IEC, IEEE, or equivalent), and familiarity with testing and quality assurance procedures.
* Demonstrated ability to lead or supervise engineering teams, coordinate cross-functional activities, and manage technical projects from concept to delivery.
* Effective analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address design and production challenges in a manufacturing environment.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing technical documentation, reports, and client-facing specifications.
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field; an advanced degree or relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
* Previous experience in transformer or heavy electrical equipment design and manufacturing is highly beneficial; experience in a managerial or deputy managerial role is a plus.
