Role Description The CNC Plasma/Oxyfuel Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in Abu Dhabi. The role involves setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC plasma and oxyfuel cutting machines to produce parts according to technical drawings and specifications. Daily tasks include interpreting engineering drawings, loading and aligning material, selecting appropriate cutting parameters, and performing basic machine programming. The operator will inspect finished components for quality, carry out routine machine maintenance, and follow safety procedures and housekeeping standards. Collaboration with supervisors and team members to optimize cutting processes, minimize waste, and meet production timelines is an important part of this role.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform machine programming for CNC plasma and oxyfuel cutting equipment, including adjusting parameters and basic troubleshooting.
- Strong machining skills with experience in operating CNC cutting machines, reading technical drawings, and using measuring tools for quality checks.
- Experience sharing knowledge or teaching peers and new team members on machine operation, safety, and best practices.
- Previous experience in fabrication or metalworking environments, especially in precision engineering, is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of occupational health and safety practices related to cutting operations and material handling.
- Attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, and commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and handle physical aspects of material loading and machine operation.
- Vocational certificate or relevant technical training in machining, CNC operations, or mechanical engineering is preferred.
