Role Description The Chief Development Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in El Mansoura, responsible for leading and executing the organization’s comprehensive development and fundraising strategy. This role oversees planning and implementation of major giving, annual giving, and planned giving programs to support philanthropic priorities and long-term financial sustainability. Day-to-day responsibilities include setting development goals, managing budgets, cultivating and stewarding donors, and building strong relationships with individuals, foundations, and corporate partners. The Chief Development Officer collaborates closely with senior leadership to align fundraising initiatives with strategic plans, provides regular performance reports, and guides the development team to meet and exceed revenue targets. The role also involves identifying new opportunities for philanthropic engagement, enhancing donor communications, and ensuring development practices are ethical, data-informed, and compliant with relevant regulations.
Qualifications
- * Demonstrated expertise in philanthropy and fundraising, including Planned Giving and Annual Giving, with a track record of securing significant gifts and building long-term donor relationships.
- Strong Strategic Planning skills, with experience designing and implementing multi-year development strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Proficiency in Budgeting, forecasting, and financial management in a development or nonprofit context, ensuring efficient use of resources and transparent reporting.
- Experience leading and mentoring development teams, with the ability to collaborate effectively with executives, board members, and external partners.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of best practices in fundraising operations, donor management systems (CRM), and data-driven decision-making.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, nonprofit management, communications, or a related field; an advanced degree or relevant professional certification is an asset.
