About the Role
Responsible for the end-to-end design, specification, and engineering of cable systems and assemblies. This includes performing complex calculations, selecting appropriate materials, determining routing methodologies, and ensuring all designs meet stringent industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform critical design calculations, including cable sizing, ampacity calculations, voltage drop, and cable pulling tension.
- Select appropriate insulation types, shielding, and jacketing materials based on environmental, mechanical, and electrical requirements.
- Initiate and follow up all product design activities by releasing trials for the New Family Products, according to the company design and development procedure, then review the Inspection and Type Test Specification and set the acceptance criteria for manufacturing and testing the product as part of product Design approval.
- Responsible for reviewing methods and performance, and conducting continuous research and development in terms of the latest technical standards to upgrade and streamline processes or procedures.
- Engage with clients when required to understand project requirements and ensure that the technical scope is met.
- Participate in attending of customer visits, technical meetings, seminars, and exhibitions whenever needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or any related field
- Minimum Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a similar position
- Training and Certifications: Power cable, Ampacity calculation, PMP, or any related training
- Languages: English is a must (French is an added value)
