Analyzing the Employer's Information Requirements (EIR): Reviewing the owner's informational and procedural requirements and defining the implementation mechanism.
Preparing the Project BIM Execution Plan (BEP): Drafting and updating the consultancy firm’s BIM Execution Plan for each project; defining roles and required Levels of Detail (LOD 100 to 300/350) across various design stages (Concept, Schematic, Detailed Design, Tender).
Linking Engineering Departments: Managing coordination and integration processes among the consultancy firm’s departments (Architectural, Structural, MEP, and Infrastructure).
Early Clash Detection (Pre-Construction): Resolving engineering issues and clashes digitally during the design phase—prior to issuing tender or construction drawings—thereby minimizing Requests for Information (RFIs) and change orders during the construction phase.
Model Auditing: Ensuring all design engineers adhere to modeling standards and accuracy requirements, while managing file sizes and performance speeds.
Generating Tender and Construction Drawings: Overseeing the extraction of engineering drawings, sections, and schedules directly from the BIM model to ensure 100% data and information consistency. Preliminary Quantity Take-Off (Design QTO – 5D): Accurately extracting estimated bills of quantities from the model for use in preparing tender documents and calculating the project's estimated cost.
Cloud Platform Management: Setting up and managing the firm’s collaborative platforms (e.g., Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360).
Data Exchange with External Parties: Managing the processes for uploading and receiving data and drawings to and from the client, contractor, and sub-consultants, while ensuring accurate file version control.
