Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
We are looking for a talented 3D Artist / Animator to join our growing creative and technical team in Abu Dhabi, working on a major theme park development associated with one of the world’s most recognized entertainment IPs.
The immediate focus will be concept and detailed design for a major animatronics package, developing a wide range of animated figures, creatures, props, foliage, and themed effects from early 3D studies through fully rendered visualizations and animatics.
This is an opportunity to work on digital models that will directly inform real physical assets, progressing through engineering, fabrication, animation and installation.
The Role
You will work as part of a small, growing project team, collaborating with the Creative Director and other specialists as designs develop from concept through to engineering and fabrication.
Your work will range from early grey models and form studies to detailed character, creature, and prop models, rigged assets, motion studies, and fully rendered animatics. The 3D models will be used not only to communicate appearance, but also to explore and validate scale, articulation, motion, collisions, clearances, sightlines, movement boundaries and safety envelopes.
You will help define form, proportion, materials, surface finish and performance, while considering how each asset interacts with its scenic and architectural environment and how it will ultimately function as a physical animatronic system.
A key part of the role is understanding how digital movement translates into real-world motion. You should be comfortable developing and testing poses, ranges of movement, and performance sequences within physical and technical constraints, and communicating these clearly to the wider design and engineering team.
What We Are Looking For
You should have strong 3D modeling and animation skills, with experience using software such as Blender, Maya, 3ds Max or similar.
You should be confident across the core 3D workflow, including modeling, rigging, animation, materials, lighting and rendering.
Experience with Photoshop or similar tools for texture development, compositing and presentation work would be valuable. Experience with Revit, Navisworks, BIM workflows or coordinated architectural models would also be highly desirable, particularly where creative 3D assets need to interface with scenic, architectural and technical models.
Particularly relevant experience includes:
- Character or creature modeling
- Organic and hard-surface modeling
- Rigging and animation
- Themed entertainment, animatronics, film, animation, games, VFX, scenic design, props or immersive experiences
- Working with established entertainment IP and formal creative approval processes
A strong portfolio demonstrating both visual quality and an understanding of movement, form, and spatial relationships will be important.
Why Join Us?
Anuvan is a United States–headquartered company with operations across the US, Egypt, and the UAE, serving a wide range of industrial markets. You will be joining a growing UAE-based team working on ambitious entertainment and immersive projects.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to a major international theme park project and to see the concepts you create develop into real, physical, moving experiences
