Founded in Doha in 2018, North Cafe began with a simple belief: coffee is one of the world’s most universal languages, with the power to bring people and cultures together. Today, North is more than a specialty coffee shop. It is a cultural destination where the craft of coffee meets Japanese culture, creativity, education, and community. At the heart of North is a connection between Qatar and Japan, expressed through thoughtful experiences, carefully brewed coffee, and an appreciation for simplicity, detail, and calm. The character 北, meaning “north,” originally depicted two people standing back-to-back. For us, it represents a moment of turning away from the noise of the day, slowing down, and reconnecting over a great cup of coffee.
