Najjar Agricultural & Trading Co. supplies registered plant nutrition, crop protection and public health products across Lebanon, backed by agronomists in the field. Founded in Beirut in 1934 by agricultural engineers Fouad Najjar and Halim Najjar, who went on to help establish the American University of Beirut’s School of Agriculture, the company has a record of firsts: the region’s first combine harvesters and tractors in 1950, biopesticides and organic fertilizers for Lebanese growers in 1965, and drip irrigation in Lebanon in 1970. Today the model rests on three things. The product: every product with an active ingredient is registered with the competent Lebanese ministry (MOA or MOPH), trialled in local conditions before it joins the range, and held in stock through the season. The delivery: supplied from the Kfarhim warehouse in the Chouf, with every batch traceable by number, production date and expiry date. The education: agronomists across five field units (Beirut, Mount Lebanon, the Bekaa, the North and the South) diagnose on site, build programmes that rotate modes of action across IRAC, FRAC and HRAC groups, and stay with the crop to harvest. For manufacturers, Najjar is a market-entry partner: in-house registration, local trials, field-led launch and coverage through agri-pharmacies, growers and institutional buyers. It is adding partners in biologicals and biostimulants, specialty plant nutrition and agricultural technology. For institutions, Najjar supplies registered agricultural and public health products to municipalities, international organisations, NGOs and donor-funded programmes, with the full technical and compliance file, and has supplied Lebanese municipalities continuously since 2018. Head office in Verdun, Beirut. Part of NJR Ventures Group.
